A hand-tufted carpet is made by punching strands of yarn using a hand-operated tool into a canvas that is stretched on a frame.

This technic allows the tool operator to draw relatively complex designs while having the freedom to play with the pile composition, colour, texture, and height.

Once filled, a thin layer of latex is then applied behind the canvas to hold the yarn and apply a layer of cotton fabric.

The vast majority of our hand-tufted carpets are made operating electric tufting guns. However, mechanical tufting guns are still used on some specific occasions.
